How to Get a Fishing Rod
The game doesn't hand you a rod unprompted. You have two options:
- Buy it — from the tackle shop on the beach (Terithia beach), for roughly 500 Tesserae.
- Craft it — recommended, since crafting your own tools eventually unlocks perks tied to the Caldarus statue.
Once you have a rod, you'll get a short fishing tutorial and can start fishing in any body of water.
Why Fish Early
Before the mines open, fishing is a simple and steady way to make early cash. Fish also count toward museum donations, which feed your town rank and renown.
Don't swim too close to fish you're trying to catch — splashing near them scares them off.
